What are Pathfinders?

Pathfinders is a worldwide youth organization that helps kids in grades 5–10 grow in leadership, service, and faith. From camping and outdoor adventures to community projects, creative skills, and hands-on learning, Pathfinders is a place where young people discover their potential—while making friends and having fun.

Background Check Information

All parents and adults who plan to attend any events with the Pathfinders is required by the Florida Conference to complete a background check and training about what to look for in the case of child abuse and neglect.

Use your legal name when registering.

After training, provide your SSN or other ID and authorize the background check.

Once cleared, register in YMMS using the same name and the clearance date.

To find your clearance date, log in to Sterling, click the “Compliance” box, and check the bottom of the screen.

Level and Honor Resources

Pathfinder Uniform Information

Pathfinders will be issued the following by the club:

  • Shirt – Tan, short sleeve (Police style) with pocket flaps and shoulder epaulets with appropriate patches.
  • Honor Sash – Black, 2 or 3 Pathfinder Honor Patch Wide (not Master Awards) 
  • Slide – Cloth, black background with Pathfinder World 
  • Scarf – Yellow, with black piping (TLTs have red piping)
  • Tie – Black straight tie for the boys and snap ties for the girls. 
  • Belt – Black, web style, with silver Pathfinder slide buckle

Pathfinders will need to purchase the following items on their own:

Young Men (Non-Staff) and TLT Pathfinders 
  • Pants – Black, Docker style, or dress slacks (uniform within club). BDU’s, Cargo Pants, sweatpants, jeans, hot pants, yoga pants, and shorts are not allowed.
  • Socks – Black 
  • Shoes – Black, dress style, leather or high shine
 Young Women (Non-Staff) and TLT Pathfinders 
  • Skirt – Black, 2” above the knee or lower when standing, with belt loops, lengt and style to be uniform within club 
  • Pants – Black. Pants are to be Docker style or dress slacks, with belt loops, and are to be uniform  in style within the club.  
  • Socks – Black, if socks are worn. If stockings, knee highs, or hosiery is worn, it is to match the wearer’s skin   tone or black, but it must be uniform within the club.
  • Shoes – Black, dress style, closed toe, closed heel, 1” heel maximum
